New developer proposes modified plan for Kenwood and Cooper Development
Browning Real Estate Partners has moved quickly to forward their proposal called Ralston Landing for the vacant land on the northwest corner of Kenwood and Cooper Roads after the previous developer was unable to bring his vision to reality.
While the proposal is new, it retains many elements of the previous project. It is a mixed-use development containing a similar number of one- and two-bedroom apartments, 24,000 square feet of commercial/retail space, and a single parking garage that is wrapped by the building on the north, south, and east sides. In their application the developer says that “The commercial uses will provide a mix of retail, restaurants, and other commercial tenants.”
The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider this proposal as a concept development plan amendment at its meeting Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 pm. Residents seeking more information can attend the meeting expecting to hear a presentation to the Commission by the developer, but there won’t be an opportunity at that time for public comment.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to eventually forward its recommendation to the City Council for consideration. Every City Council meeting includes an opportunity for citizens to address Council on any topic they wish. The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 pm.
