Blue Ash Chili Set to Close, Reopen

Blue Ash Chili, a Blue Ash institution, is preparing to close their current shop on Friday, April 9th. Their new restaurant at 9525 Kenwood Road in the Crossings of Blue Ash (down from the CVS store) will open on April 12 after a $300,000 renovation to the space. It’s not too late to get in for one last visit to their old location. If you’re interested in owning a memento from the store, check out their auction. Read on to learn more including what is known about what is happening to the old location.

If you’re not already be sure to like and follow Blue Ash Chili on Facebook.

The current site of Blue Ash Chili is part of the properties controlled by Circle Development Company. In addition they control the “Ringo Lanes” property to the north. They announced that they plan to close on these properties at the end of the first quarter of 2021. From the minutes of the January 21 City Council Meeting, it sounds like the developer is proposing to cooperate with the city to develop the property they control as well as the “Hosbrook” property that the city owns. (The Hosbrook property includes the former gas station at the corner of Cooper and Kenwood Roads and extends west to the railroad tracks.)

Circle Development is also the owner of the Red Apartments and Red Dog Resort and Spa.

The Red Apartments in Cincinnati are owned by the same developer who controls the site of the old Blue Ash Chili and Ringo Lanes.

You can listen to the discussion on the city’s Youtube site.
